north fork fsc launch
One of three floating surface collectors Natt McDougall Company has been contracted to build, this 2,400 ton steel structure for downstream fish passage was built on land. The challenge was to get this large vessel launched safely into the water and have all of the mechanical and electrical systems work properly as it floats on the surface. Months of planning, engineering, and consulting with naval architects and other specialized professionals resulted in the successful completion of this venture. Working closely with Mike McDougall, we developed detailed construction drawings and work plans to communicate and gain approval from the owner on how we proposed to pull the structure into the water.
