About Kelly McDougall
Kelly McDougall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University's College of Architecture, where her passion for design and construction first took root. With over 30 years of experience in both fields, Kelly has cultivated a diverse and robust skill set, making her a versatile professional in the industry.
Kelly began her career with Czopek & Erdenberger in 1998 as a Senior Designer, where she contributed to a wide range of projects, including multi-family housing and higher education, serving both private and government clients. Her role as a Project Engineer for the Natt McDougall Company further expanded her expertise to include in-water and near-water projects, such as dams, floating surface collectors, and fish ladders.
In 2019, Kelly reconnected with Linda Czopek of Czopek Design Studio, leading to several collaborative design projects, including The Grove and Round Lake Lodging at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic in 2020, Kelly took the opportunity to launch her own firm, Kelly McDougall Design. Since its inception, she has successfully designed and managed the construction of over 50 residential projects.
Kelly's earlier notable collaborations include projects like Oregon State University's McNary Dining Hall, Corbett Crescent Townhomes, Cannon Beach House, Seven Feathers Truck & Travel Center, Oregon Health & Science University, and the Original Taco House Restaurant Renovation.
Kelly believes that exceptional design stems from a practical understanding of the construction process, an innate ability to interpret architectural plans, and a commitment to resolving issues that may arise for the betterment of the project. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, taking long walks with her Mastiff, Mac, and golfing with her husband, Mike.
